Large lathes expose operators to the rotating chuck, the workpiece, and ejected chips and coolant at the point of operation. PowerSafe builds chuck and lathe guards to the specific machine, as either a hinged lid that lifts clear of the work zone or a sliding rail system that travels with the operation, mounted to the machine itself or to the floor. Guards include safety switches, and authorized bypass keys where secondary operations such as polishing and deburring are performed at the machine.
