PowerSafe enhances your machine safety through collaborative efforts!

Providing a solutions-driven onsite machine guarding assessments focused on hazard mitigation to keep human interaction away from dangerous operations, then providing a quote with custom design, manufacturing and assemble, and nationwide installation.

This is a collaborative approach through the engagement of machine operators, safety managers, plant engineers, and maintenance techs while assessing risks to help identify areas to improve and develop solutions to mitigate machine hazards. We conceptualize using ANSI standards and best practice solutions governed by OSHA for enhanced safety, focused on minimizing disruptions of your production processes.

Schedule a Meeting

  • Our Machine Guarding Assessment process begins with a scheduled on-site visit, during which a comprehensive review of the facility's safety guarding is conducted.
  • We engage in critical collaborative discussions with maintenance, safety, and machine operators to understand safety goals focusing on minimizing impacts on production and overall process flow.
  • Together, they explore machine setup, operation, and adjustments, identifying necessary machine guarding upgrades.
  • PowerSafe Engineers then take over, documenting and conceptualizing custom machine guarding improvements, creating 3D CAD models and presentations.
  • A proposed guarding package with a quote for materials, installation, and integration is provided, followed by a Teams meeting to discuss designs and execution timelines.
  • Other machine safety services include:
    • Evaluating pre-purchased machines to avoid overpaying for equipment requiring safety upgrades before putting into service.
    • Evaluation of recently purchased machines requiring quick turnaround on safety upgrades due to production needs.

Machine Risk Assessment Options

If you need a full machine guarding risk assessment, safety integrity level assessment, or a safety risk analysis, we can help through certified partnerships in the market. Scroll down to learn more about this service.

Functional Safety

Onsite assessment evaluating the functional safety system, schematics, and technical data to provide verification if the system meets or exceeds control reliability per OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA standards. This includes reports showing the level of hazards, PL ratings, or control reliability. Recommendations will be made to upgrade any devices found to be out of spec such as motor contactors and drives, relays, or valves to bring the performance level of your machine controls and functionality up to a PLd or PLe safety rating.

Stop Time Distance

Test the stop time of your machine and compare the placement of your presence sensing devices in relation to the machine hazards. Rule of thumb is 60” per second from hazard, which is quick for human reaction time, but not for machine reaction time.

Machine Acquisition

Don't overpay to acquire machines without proper guarding or safety equipment. Don't take delivery of a new machine without peace of mind that safety is not a concern. Whether it’s a virtual walkthrough or a site visit, we can help with our acquired machine safety assessment service.

Ergonomic Safety

An ergonomic review of a workspace is essential as it helps identify potential ergonomic hazards, such as poor workstation setup or repetitive tasks, and allows for the implementation of ergonomic solutions. We can help keep your team working within their “green zone.”
