Shawn Mantel founded PowerSafe Automation to bring engineering discipline to machine safety — especially in machine guarding retrofit environments where legacy equipment creates risk, downtime, and liability.
He is passionate about solving complex manufacturing challenges through practical engineering, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. With years of experience in industrial environments, he enjoys working directly with customers to understand how people interact with equipment and how safety solutions can improve both workflow and operator confidence.
His expertise centers around machine safety strategy, custom guarding concepts, legacy equipment upgrades, and helping manufacturers create safer, more efficient production environments.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys traveling for projects, exploring manufacturing facilities across the country, being a home chef, following motorsports and automotive projects, and spending time with family and pets while documenting life on the road.
