Standards for Machine Guarding and General Safety Guidelines

One of the most common phrases in the manufacturing industry is "safety is everyone's responsibility." This certainly is a valid point, but safety must start with machine guarding, as it is the first line of defense. Workers need to be provided with the proper tools helping them to avoid hazards such as pinch, cut, shear and crush points. Beyond it being the right thing to do, by law, it the company's responsibility to provide a safe work environment under OSHA  1910.212.
